C/ MARQUÉS DE GUADIARO
En este espacio de la actual calle Marqués de Guadiaro se identifica un nuevo tramo, emplazado entre la Puerta de Buenaventura y la Puerta de Granada, original del siglo XI (hammudi) siendo la barbacana probablemente del siglo XIII.
Ambos fueron documentados a nivel de cimentación durante el control arqueológico realizado en las obras de renovación urbana.
Actualmente se observa en el pavimento de la calle la traza de la muralla y la barbacana.

MARQUÉS DE GUADIARO STREET
This place in the current Marqués de Guadiaro Street is a section of the defensive fence built by the Hammudí dynasty (11th century) and continued during the Zirí taifa.
This fragment of the medieval wall, situated between Buenaventura’s Gate and Granada’s Gate, is original of the 11th century and the barbican probably dates back to the 12th century. Both were documented at the foundation level during the archaeological control carried as part of the urban renewal works.
Nowadays, we can appreciate in the pavement of the street the trace of the wall and the barbican.
